Each season participants in the Girls on the Run program work towards the goal of running or walking a 5K at the end of the season. Girls on the Run Treasure Valley has partnered with the East Junior High Hornet Run and the Barber to Boise 5K as our community 5K’s in the spring and the fall. Not only do we encourage the girls to participate in these events, but we also encourage family and friends to join as running buddies.

Barber to Boise 5K
Held each year in October, this 5K starts and ends at Bronco Stadium on the Boise State University campus. The highlight of this course is that it ends in Bronco Stadium, next to the famous blue turf.
Day of Information – Barber to Boise 2011
We will be meeting Saturday, October 15th at 8:45am.
Where: We will meet at 8:45am on the east side parking lot of Bronco Stadium at BSU, by the white chapel.
Parking: You can park in the east parking lot of Bronco Stadium or in designated areas for visitors. Parking is limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged!
When: The race will start at 9:50am. Girls on the Run will meet at 8:45am near the white chapel in the east side parking lot of Bronco Stadium. This gives us time to distribute race numbers and take a group picture. When you arrive, find your coach to get your race numbers and timing chips. Your coach will have all forms that were submitted with the Girls on the Run team.
Please wear your Girls on the Run colored t-shirt. If you ordered a regular event shirt, those will need to be picked up from Melissa on the morning of the event. At 9:00am, Girls on the Run will take a group picture. After the picture, we will do some warm ups and get ready for the start of the event.
Plan to stay after you’ve finished for live music and the pancake breakfast (food is only for participants and those who bought a breakfast ticket ahead of time).
Late Registration: For those that didn’t get registered before the GOTR deadline, but want to participate, you can still register. You must register on your own and pick up your own packet at packet pick-up on Friday, October 14th from 4:00 until 6:30pm. Registration is $35 until October 11th and $45 until the event on October 15th.
Food Drive: B2B is again acting as a food drive for the Idaho Foodbank. Please bring canned goods or a non-perishable item to Bronco Stadium. The collection barrels will be located at the 10k shuttle area and in the NE corner of the east parking lot.
