Girls: Staying Active in the Cold

Brrr… It’s Cold Outside

Season’s over and I have to admit that I’m kind of glad. It’s only 35 degrees as I sit here and write this and I don’t think it’s going to get any warmer today. But, you say, last week you told us to stay active during the off season. That I did. So let’s talk about some fun ways to stay active when it’s cold outside.

As I see it, you have two options:

1)     Stay inside and play indoor sports like basketball or volleyball.

2)     Bundle up and head outside for winter soccer and all the other sports that are only available to us in the Winter like skiing, sledding, and snowboarding (Bogus Basin will be open soon!)

But what if you really, really like to run? Then by all means, run. As long as you dress warmly and it’s okay with your parents, it’s safe to run outside as long as it’s not icy or below freezing. Or if you hate the cold, you can always run inside on a treadmill. (Maybe Santa will bring you one for Christmas if you ask nicely!)
