Putting the U in Community

This week at GOTR, we are talking about our community project. Why do we do a community project?

1)      It’s rewarding – volunteering gives you an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, making you and them feel better in the process.

2)      It’s good experience – I know you’re probably not thinking too much about college or jobs right now, but it will be important in the near future. Employers and college admission boards really like to see that you’ve helped your community out in some way – the more, the better!

3)      It’s fun – what better way to showcase all you’ve learned in GOTR and to do something fun with your coaches and GOTR friends than to work hard on something for your community?
