Welcome back to all of our repeat families! We’re so glad to see you again. And a warm welcome to our new Girls on the Run (GOTR) participants and parents. We’re glad to have you here!
You’re probably wondering what we do in GOTR. Here’s a run down (and make sure to pick up a copy of the Grown Up Guide from your daughter’s coaches):
1) Introduction – Every session will start with a “getting on board” segment to introduce your daughter to that day’s lesson. This lesson will instill one of our GOTR core values.
2) Warm-Up – after we talk about the lesson, we do a few warm up activities to get your daughter ready to walk or run.
3) Workout – for a certain period of time each day your daughter has GOTR practice, she’ll get a chance to walk, run, skip, hop, and play with her teammates and coaches. Most days this will involve some sort of game. But it is hot out, so make sure your daughter is dressed in a t-shirt, shorts, and running shoes. Also please make sure she brings lots of water. She’ll need it!
4) Stretching and wrap-up – this is cool down time where we stretch our muscles and talk about what we learned in GOTR that day.
