This week is our practice 5K. With the crazy weather we’ve been having this Fall, you never know quite what to expect when you walk out the door. It could be sunny, windy, raining, or snowing depending on the day! While we can’t control the weather, we want to do everything to ensure that your daughter will have a safe practice 5K. We’ll be supplying some fun things to keep her motivated, but we also need some help from you to make sure she’s ready for whatever the weather throws our way.
On the morning of the 5K, can you please make sure your daughter:
1) Has extra water
2) Has an extra snack that is easy to digest like an apple or a banana
3) Is dressed appropriately for the weather – we recommend she bring shorts as well as pants, a rain poncho, and a jacket.
4) Sunscreen and a hat – because you never know; it may be 80 and sunny!
5) Has a healthy dinner when she gets home and takes it easy for a few days to help her body recover from all that running!
