Spring 5K Race

Each season participants in the Girls on the Run program work towards the goal of running or walking a 5K at the end of the season.  Girls on the Run Treasure Valley has partnered with the East Junior High Hornet Run for many years as our spring community 5K.   Not only do we encourage the girls to participate in this event, but we also encourage family and friends to join as running buddies.

Hi – it looks like the “Register Here” link for the Hornet Run isn’t working. Is it fixable? Thanks!

  4. Hi! I was in GOTR in 5th grade when I was 9-10 years old. I went to Greenhurst Elementary School and participated there. I’m 12 years old now and I turn 13 in April. Well someone told me that at a certain age, you cant do GOTR anymore. I’ve been REALLY wanting to do it because I loved doing the Hornet Run in 5th grade and it made my self esteem rise very high. I guess what I’m asking is, am I able to join? And if so, then where can I go if I live in Nampa?

Hi Sarah, Thanks for reaching out to GOTR. I’m so glad you enjoyed your time in the program and it gave you the skill set you needed. Unfortunately GOTR is limited to girls in the 3rd-5th grades. Bummer. However we do allow girls to be junior coaches when they turn 16. Hopefully we can get you involved in the program at that time. Keep believing in your gifts and I hope our paths cross in the future!
